McCarthy’s Home Services, LLC has been donating house cleaning to local cancer patients for the past eight years through their partnership with nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason. Owner Trina McCarthy understands the importance of support and a clean environment when undergoing illness and is committed to making a difference for cancer patients and their families.
“This cause has become quite personal to me, as my sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer,” said McCarthy. “The physical and emotional challenges of battling cancer can make it hard for cancer patients to manage their homes and perform any kind of cleaning task. I’m thrilled that we can focus on the home, while cancer patients focus on their health and family. I went to college to become a social worker. Although I am no longer in that field, I love to help others and give back to the community. It is in my nature to make a positive difference in the lives of others.” Since 2012, McCarthy’s Home Services has supported 33 cancer patients with a total donated value of $9,270 in cleanings.
In partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, McCarthy’s Home Services assists cancer patients by cleaning two homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Cincinnati and the surrounding areas.
McCarthy emphasized, “With the COVID-19 pandemic, McCarthy’s Home Services helps customers, especially cancer patients, live a healthier life by creating a hygienic environment in the home. Along with IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) credentials, the company has taken many courses on COVID-19 cleaning safety. Our skilled workers take professional measures to ensure a tidy, sanitized, and germ-free environment. We are following CDC guidelines to use an EPA-approved disinfectant, to wear masks and gloves, and to socially distance when cleaning in a home.”
